Our Review Methodology
Last Updated: June 2026
At GoalPuls, we take product reviews seriously. Every review, comparison, and recommendation on our website follows a structured, transparent methodology designed to give you reliable, independent information you can trust when making software decisions.
How We Select Products to Review
We choose which products to review based on market relevance and reader demand, the product’s significance in the email marketing and business software landscape, our ability to conduct thorough hands-on testing, and reader requests and feedback. We review both products with which we have affiliate relationships and products without any commercial relationship. The presence or absence of an affiliate program never determines whether we review a product.
Our Testing Process
Every product review on GoalPuls follows a consistent multi-step process:
Step 1 — Account Setup and Onboarding (Day 1-2): We create a genuine account on the platform, go through the complete onboarding process, and evaluate the initial user experience. We note how long setup takes, how intuitive the process is, and whether documentation is adequate.
Step 2 — Core Feature Testing (Day 3-10): We systematically test each major feature category including the email editor and template library, contact management and segmentation, automation builder and workflow creation, deliverability and authentication setup, reporting and analytics, landing pages if available, CRM features if available, and integrations with common third-party tools.
Step 3 — Pricing Analysis (Day 11-12): We analyze the pricing structure at multiple subscriber or volume levels, compare the cost against competitors for equivalent features, evaluate what is included in free plans versus paid plans, and identify any hidden costs or limitations not obvious from the pricing page.
Step 4 — Support Evaluation (Day 13-14): We contact customer support with genuine questions through available channels (email, chat, phone) and evaluate response time, knowledge quality, and helpfulness. We also assess the quality and completeness of self-service documentation.
Step 5 — Writing and Review (Day 15-20): We compile our findings into a balanced review that includes both strengths and weaknesses. The review is written by our editorial team, fact-checked against official sources, and reviewed for accuracy before publication.
Our Scoring Criteria
We evaluate every product across these standardized dimensions:
Ease of Use: How intuitive is the interface? Can a beginner accomplish core tasks without extensive training? How well-designed is the user experience?
Feature Set: Does the platform offer the features its target audience needs? How do features compare to competitors in the same price range?
Pricing Value: Is the pricing competitive for what is offered? Are there hidden costs? How does pricing scale as usage grows?
Deliverability: Does the platform maintain strong inbox placement rates? Are authentication tools provided? What is the platform’s sender reputation?
Support Quality: How responsive and knowledgeable is the support team? What support channels are available? How comprehensive is the documentation?
Scalability: Can the platform grow with a business? Are there performance limitations at higher volumes? Does pricing scale reasonably?
How We Handle Comparisons
Our comparison articles evaluate products side by side using the same criteria applied consistently to each platform. We do not declare universal “winners” because the best platform depends on individual business needs, budget, and priorities. Instead, we clearly explain which platform is better suited for specific use cases and user types.
Update and Accuracy Policy
Software products change frequently. We re-evaluate and update our reviews on a regular cycle. Each review displays a “Last Updated” date. When we discover that information has changed since publication, we update the review and note the revision date. If a significant change affects our assessment, we revise our conclusions accordingly.
Affiliate Relationship Transparency
Some products we review offer affiliate programs. When we have an affiliate relationship with a reviewed product, we disclose this clearly in the review. Our editorial conclusions are never influenced by affiliate relationships. We apply the same evaluation criteria and the same editorial standards regardless of whether an affiliate program exists.
We have published critical reviews of products with which we have affiliate relationships, and we have published positive reviews of products with which we have no commercial relationship. Our editorial integrity is not for sale.
Reader Feedback
We welcome corrections, updates, and feedback on any of our reviews. If you have experience with a product we have reviewed and believe our assessment is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact us at admin@goalpuls.site. Reader feedback helps us maintain the quality and accuracy of our reviews.
